Gas line leak causes evacuation at Krystal's Restaurant, 

2307 Plant Ave, Waycross, Ga 31501

 

The call came in, visible flames coming from the broken gas line, however, a minute later, the call updated fire was out, with no smoke, and no flames.

All persons were evacuated from Krystals and the attached Circle K.  Police blocked the exits and fire personnel came in and inspected the kitchen area, the fire suppression system kicked in, and the gas was turned off before the fire dept even arrived.  

Within about 7 minutes police and fire left the scene.  No estimated cost of damage at this time.

Man looses control of vehicle and ends up needing flight for life helicoper

 A man lost control of his vehicle and swerved off the Brunswick Highway, crashing into construction equipment in front of CBR Rentals. 

Emergency responders, including the Georgia Highway Patrol, local police, and a rescue squad, worked to extricate the driver from the truck. 

He was then transported to a waiting Flight For Life helicopter, which had landed in a nearby mall parking lot. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
